Mr Charow is the Vice President for Russia, BP p.l.c. with responsibility for strategy, risk management and strategic communications for BP’s Russia businesses. He is based in London at BP’s corporate headquarters. Mr Charow has worked for Amoco and BP for 16 years, eight of which were spent in Moscow, including as President of BP Russia from 2002-2005. Prior to joining Amoco, Mr Charow founded and led the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia from 1994-1997, building the organisation from a start up to the leading organisation representing foreign investors in Russia. Mr Charow moved to Russia in 1992 as Head of Representation for Chilewich Corporation, a New York-based commodities trading firm. Prior to that, he worked in various consulting and advisory roles in New York.
